Sometimes, life demands a great burger. My Father’s Place is only too happy to leap into the breach – people rave over their burgers and shakes made with real fruit, and it’s never a bad thing to be soaking up the sun on their patio deck, right in the heart of town.

What’s a skitown without a great brewpub? Salmon River Brewery  wisely focuses on the qualities that are making small breweries so popular – craft brewing in small batches, and using local ingredients whenever possible. The Shore Lodge has been pampering guests since 1948. Ideally situated on the south shore of Payette Lake, the Lodge offers its guests access to the award-winning Whitetail golf course, private beach, marina, outdoor pool, tennis, racquetball and basketball courts, and McCall’s only movie theatre. Wapiti Meadow Ranch is known for many wonderful things, all due to its location in the middle of a mountain paradise. We can also attest to their claim that fresh mountain air stimulates the appetite – let them satisfy those pangs with succulent prime rib, Idaho salmon, elk tenderloin, or other savory treasures.

Tamarack Resort has been a hugely ambitious undertaking – there had been no new ski resorts built in the country for the 23 years preceding Tamarack’s opening in 2004. Located on the west shore of Cascade Lake, Tamarack’s chairlifts service a skiable vertical drop of 2760 feet on West Mountain, and offer over 30 km of Nordic ski trails. Its award-winning golf course, a Robert Trent Jones II-designed masterpiece, makes full use of the varied terrain and mountain views and is more than ready to challenge the best – playing at 7,319 yards from the tips, it’s an incredible challenge in beautiful surroundings. Development at Tamarack is currently on hold, but the whole area looks forward to its completion.
